Invisalign for Adults

Having straight teeth helps you to look more adult and professional. This can be achieved using a variety of Canton orthodontics techniques. However, as an adult, you might not want to have a mouth full of metal braces in the workplace. Invisalign can help you achieve the look you desire without the metal mouth.

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a brand of clear, plastic aligners. They can straighten your smile by slowly bringing your teeth into place using customized, pre-formed trays that fit into your mouth. They are nearly invisible to everyone else so you can get the smile you want without making sure everyone you see knows about it.

How Does It Work?

Every two weeks during your treatment you’ll receive a new set of aligners, one for your top teeth and one for your bottom teeth. You will be instructed to wear them 24/7 except for when you are eating and drinking, flossing and brushing.

Each aligner will have the teeth in a slightly different position. When you wear it, your teeth will gradually reposition themselves to fit into the new aligner.

You will visit our Canton orthodontics office every six weeks to check on your progress.

Treatment can last from 9-15 months and use 18-30 aligners. Of course, this will vary for each patient.

Is It Right for Me?

Invisalign is not meant for major orthodontic work and it cannot fix any bite issues you may have. Instead, Invisalign is meant to fix minor crowding or misalignment with the teeth. If you didn’t have braces as a teen because your teeth were “good enough”, you might still have small issues you’d like to fix. Or perhaps you did have braces but haven’t been wearing your retainer as prescribed since then and now your teeth have started to shift back to your pre-braces smile.

If you desire to have a better smile but don’t want the look of heavy metal braces as an adult, Invisalign is the Canton orthodontics choice for you.

How Do We Get Started?

First, we will need to see you in our office for a consultation to ensure that Invisalign will work for your situation. If so, we will make a mold of your teeth so we can get the first set of aligners built. Next, Dr. Nia will use a computer with 3D models to build out the rest of your aligners according to the expected treatment plan. If your treatment progresses faster or slower than expected, we made need to redesign your aligners so they fit you better. When the first set is ready, you’ll come to our office to make sure they fit correctly and get instructions for how to maximize their benefits!

To schedule your consultation, please call our Canton orthodontics office at (770) 800-8986 or reach out to us online. We’ll be happy to walk you through the process and answer any initial questions you may have about this treatment. We look forward to seeing you smile!
